A Great Day for Roy J

The San Diego Wine & Culinary Center offered this ‘FIND THE OPUS” blind tasting as part of the November 15 activities of the San Diego Wine & Food Festival Week. Four Bordeaux style blends were disguised for the nearly 50 participating tasters, who paid $45 for this special event. Wines tasted were at the price points of $18, $34, $49 and $140. The challenge to the participants was “Without the help of the hype and the fancy label, see if you can find the Opus by taste alone!”

The results were announced by John Alonge, wine expert and the owner of the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center. ‘By an overwhelming majority, the wine you have selected as the Opus is the “ROY J MAIER” Cabernet Sauvignon from Saint Helena Road Winery in the Sonoma County Mountains.”

Above all else, this result has highlighted that our ROY J MAIER Bordeaux Wine is an outstanding value at $49 and our ‘ROY J’ can stand up with some of the legends of the game. We hope you will try our 2004 Vintage and let ‘ROY J MAIER’ speak for itself!
